SOS Children’s Villages Illinois provides quality foster care in agency owned homes within a family setting. SOS has 18 foster homes in a Village in Lockport and a new urban Village in the City of Chicago at 76th Street and Parnell with 16 homes. In addition to providing traditional foster care, SOS has two innovative programs; Pregnant and Parenting Teens, and Fostering Families. SOS is seeking responsible, energetic individuals to become a part of the SOS Team. Those applying must be willing to use a team approach to provide quality care for the Children living in our Villages. The ability to work closely with our foster parents and other support staff towards the best interests of our children is essential.

BI-LINGUAL CHILD WELFARE SPECIALIST

Location: Lockport Village (17545 Village Lane Lockport, IL 60441)

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: providing intake and referral services, treatment planning, conducting homes visits, representing the child and family in court, attending administrative case reviews, participating in regular family team meetings, participation in the child’s educational needs, organizing client records, maintenance of agency records and necessary correspondence; and share on-call responsibilities with other staff, including weekends.

POSITION MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: BSW/BA in related human services, MSW/MA preferred; Child Welfare Employee Licensure and 1-2 years child welfare foster care experience. Pursuant to DCFS licensing standards submit to a full background check, and provide academic transcripts. Must hold a valid Illinois driver’s license with acceptable driving record and provide own reliable and insured transportation. CHILD WELFARE SUPERVISOR

Location: Chicago Village (7600 S. Parnell Ave. Chicago IL. 60620)

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:providing direct supervision to the case management staff in order to ensure the delivery of quality services to SOS children, foster parents and biological families in order to achieve the particular case goal as outlined and explained in the client service plan including, supervision of all casework services and case management staff, providing intake and referral services, treatment planning, participating in regular family team meetings, coordination of SACWIS responsibilities, maintenance of agency records and necessary correspondence; and share on-call responsibilities with other staff, including weekends.

POSITION MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: MSW or MA in related human services required, LCSW preferred; DCFS Child Welfare Employee Licensure; 3 years direct service child welfare experience and minimum 1 year supervisory experience or 5 years direct service child welfare experience with proven leadership responsibilities. Demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in children and families served. GRANTS COORDINATOR

Location: Downtown Chicago

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Under the supervision of the Director of Development, assist in implementing a comprehensive grants and public relations programs. Primary responsibility will be to manage public and private grant research, submission, reporting and cultivation; working closely with program departments, identify programs and projects that match funder guidelines; and processing, acknowledgement and tracking of all donations. Additional responsibilities to include writing of publications, newsletters, press releases and web site updates designed to meet Development Department goals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study and 2+ years demonstrated successful experience writing proposals required; plus prior experience with public/private, government/corporate focused grants and gifts. Quality knowledge of the principles and practices of grant preparation and administration, plus working knowledge of the sources for funding required. Exceptional demonstrated verbal and written communication skills; proofreading and editing skills required. Proficiency in MS Office; and experience with Donor Perfect or similar software is highly desirable. Ability and willingness to travel between Chicago and Lockport Villages, as well as off-site appointments as necessary; hold a valid Illinois driver’s license with acceptable driving record and provide own reliable and insured transportation; pursuant to DCFS licensing standards submit to a full criminal background check. This is a full time position with a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a full benefits package.
