On April 30, 2015, SOS Children’s Villages Illinois hosted volunteers from AMLI Residential, a corporate partner that has generously supported the children and families at our Chicago Village for nine years. Each year, AMLI offers a number of events from Foster Parent Appreciation Luncheons to Holiday Parties. AMLI wanted to do something different and extra special for the Village itself this past spring.
Working with their AMLI team, as well as with Valspar and Armstrong Painting, doors and columns were painted, landscaping and gardening was completed, closets were cleaned, windows were washed, and so much more.
Carly Stevenson, Regional Manager for AMLI Residential, shared:
“AMLI Residential stands by its commitment to support and volunteer within the communities it lives and works. Our ‘pay it forward’ culture creates a sense of pride and unity amongst our associates as they see the delight of their efforts on the faces of those they help. The Chicago Village is an extension of our ‘AMLI fAMLI.’ During our volunteer day, we engaged 85 fAMLI members in a day of service that involved hours of hard work which culminated in laughter and pure joy. Our greatest successes are those on the days we serve.”
SOS Illinois thanks our “AMLI fAMLI,” Armstrong Painting, and Valspar for bringing their staff to spend the day working to improve our Village grounds, as well as to show the children, foster parents, and staff that our Village community extends far beyond the cul de sac at 76th and Parnell.
