Dream Makers’ automatic monthly gifts provide the sustained resources needed to help the brothers and sisters in our care thrive in three very important areas:

General Donations

You may make an outright gift or recurring gift online or by mail. If you would prefer to give by mail, please download our donation form here.

Memorial/Tribute Gifts

Tribute gifts are a thoughtful way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or any special occasion. These gifts can also serve as a special expression of sympathy by honoring the memory of a friend or relative. SOS Children’s Villages Illinois acknowledges your gift and notifies the honoree or appropriate persons that a tribute donation was made. The amount of your gift is kept confidential. You may make this gift online or by mail.

Stock/Stock Certificates

A gift of appreciated securities is an attractive alternative to cash because of the potential for a double tax benefit. Please call the Advancement Office at (312) 372-8200 for transfer instructions.

Savings Bonds

Savings bonds—likely the nation’s most widely held appreciated asset—represent major assets that may have stopped growing and are now collecting dust, just waiting to be put to use. A tax-wise use for your appreciated savings bonds is to support a cause you care about.

Real Estate/ Tangible Personal Property

Using real estate, such as your house, farm or commercial property, to fund a gift allows you to preserve your cash assets and receive significant tax advantages. Tangible personal property such as computer equipment, works of art, rare books, or other collections may be donated. Please contact us to discuss the any potential gifts of this type.

IRA Gift

In accordance with the Tax Increase Prevention Act of 2014 (H.R. 5771) signed into law by President Obama on December 19, 2014, you may be able to give a gift through your IRA as part of your annual distribution. Please contact us for more information.

Deferred/Planned Gifts

You may want to include SOS Children’s Villages Illinois in your estate plans.

In-Kind Donations

Due to to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we are currently unable to accept in-person drop off items. However, we are excited to accept new donations directly shipped through us. You can check out our highest-need items on our Amazon wish list linked here!

In-kind donations allow us to reduce expenses so more of our funds can be used for educational enrichment, therapy, and training classes. SOS Children’s Villages Illinois is thankful for donations of professional services, food, new clothing, or equipment.
